17 Years ago Today wedding during hurricane Ernesto
17 Years ago (this coming Saturday) was an interesting wedding day with a twist. Hurricane Ernesto had swept through Florida in late August of 2006 and was heading right to New Jersey. Of course as the photographer I had my eye on the storm all week. To make things even more interesting the couples wedding reception was being held literally on the beach in Sea Bright at a venue that I believe no longer exists. As the days passed Hurricane Ernesto turned into Tropical Storm Ernesto as it crawled its way North. We would get tons of rain and strong winds but at least it was no longer a Hurricane. Nonetheless photos on the beach itself was out of the equation, winds were still hitting 40-60MPH gusts and waves were violently breaking on the shore. Now whats the twist you ask? Well the Grooms father….his name was also Ernesto. What were the odds? This shot is of us leaving the church before we headed down the shore. This would not be my last Hurricane Wedding…
