Madison Hotel Wedding

Below are a few photos from the wedding of Stephanie and Nick at the Madison Hotel in Morristown. Great venue that I enjoy working at very much. The conservatory is beautiful, the grounds around the building is very nice and the staff very friendly. Doesn’t hurt that its also just a few miles from my home. Check out a few samples below. Side note: This couple was the first couple to purchase my new 3D package (not visible here...

Add-On: Weddings shot on beautiful film!

While I photograph my weddings digitally, every so often I will pull out my Hasselblad film camera out of my camera bag and do a couple of photos of the couple with this classic high quality film camera as a special treat for my couples. The Hasselblad has been world famous for decades for its super sharp images and beautiful colors, so famous that in the 60’s when NASA sent Man to the Moon they sent them with Hasselblad...

Wedding at The Olde Mill Inn

I photographed Corin and Scott’s wedding on a late and cold Fall day at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge New Jersey. While the Olde Mill Inn has an awesome courtyard that is great for a wedding ceremony, the weather was way too cold for that to be a possibility. As a matter of fact the bride and groom from the get go planned the wedding to be indoors since odds were a late fall wedding would produce weather too cold to have...

Story behind the Wedding photo #7

Some years ago, to be exact in 2006, I photographed a wedding on a weekend in which the entire east coast was experiencing the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto. Ernesto was a category 1 hurricane that by the time it made it’s way to New Jersey it was already a Tropical storm. But don’t let that fool you, a tropical storm is no joke, especially when the wedding reception is taking place ON THE BEACH! (story continued below)...

Mother and Son Dance

This photograph is from Jovan and JT’s wedding at Asbury Park’s Tim McCloone’s Supper Club, right on the boardwalk by the convention center. Actually I should write photographs … as in plural since I just had to attach these two photos together for full affect. The photos are from the Mother and Son dance. I think no further explanation is...

The Ring Bearer

This touching photograph was taken at a recent wedding at Tim McCloone’s Supper Club in Asbury Park. As the ring bearer walked up the direction of the groom he started crying…but he kept walking and eventually made it up there. The bride when you think of it didn’t see this moment since she was still outside of the room, but thankfully I caught this moment that will live in the family for generations to come! About...

Making the best of rain at a wedding

The weather looked really bad for last Sunday’s wedding. The Bride was somewhat upset that she wouldn’t be getting any sun on her wedding day. I mentioned to her that clouds are great for wedding photos, even better than sun and that made her feel better. But as the day got closer the forecast went from cloudy to rainy. Even worse was the fact that it looked like rain all day and that is exactly what happened. A steady...

Story behind the Wedding photo #6

This photo was taken at the Grain House which is part of the Olde Mill Inn but a venue on its own. Both hold ceremonies and receptions independently but share the same parking lot. In this photo the bride had just finished getting ready in one of the upstairs rooms at the Grain House and I was in the little hallway with a vaulted ceiling waiting to be called in. As I waited I noticed the window and nice light coming through it. Not...

Story behind the wedding photo #5

When you are taking wedding photographs in public places you can’t expect to have the whole scenery just for yourself and at the Jersey Shore it’s no different. There’s a good chance that in many candid photographs there will be people in the background. But sometimes, like this photo in Spring Lake, thats a good thing! The little boy playing in the sand and running into the frame of the photo makes the image! I was...

Story behind the wedding photo #4

This wedding took place on the farm of a family member of the couple. The property which is on preserved farmland is tucked away in the hills of Sussex County. It was a beautiful day in a very relaxed atmosphere. In the back of the property and down a hill there was a pond with a small rowboat tied up to a post. The groom decided that he wanted to take his newly wed spouse for a ride. I recall that the entry into the rowboat by the...
